Hey Davide! How are you today?
Hi!!! Fine thanks
So you were born and raised in Italy... what part of Italy did you grow up in?
Yes , Padua near Venice
What was the music scene like there?
Here in Italy the House Music has always been very appreciated
Who were your key musical influences as a kid, and at what stage did you start getting into house?
As a child i was listening to the music that my parents listened...soul and disco music 70/80
After playing out in small clubs in the early nineties, you then went on to secure residencies at three leading clubs in Italy, Muretto, Movida and Matilda. What would you identify as your first big break and how did it come about?
In 2005 the owner of urban klub called me to become the resident dj. There i found my right direction.
You also held a residency at the legendary Urban Klub, where you had a chance to play alongside huge names such as Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Frankie Knuckles, Joey Negro, DJ Spen and Dimitri From Paris ... is there anyone that you played with that left a particularly lasting impression on you?
All the big DJs I've known have taught me a lot. each one made me grow up and learn something new in music as humility and dedication
And is there anyone you’d really like to see that you haven’t had the chance to?
In almost 30 years I have had the pleasure of hearing play all the DJs that I liked, I must say that now a dj attracts me in a special way for both his musical style both for his productions, I'm talking about Osunlade
Currently in the UK, there’s been a lot of press about the number of clubs closing down, most notably Fabric, but then also clubs like Passing Clouds, Plastic People, Dance Tunnel – rising costs and almost impossible restrictions have been put to blame, but the cultural steamroller of gentrification is almost definitely the largest contributing factor – how does this compare to the clubbing scene in Italy right now?
In Italy, too, is very hard to make quality parties with the right sound system in a real club, the only thing to do in my opinion is to have perseverance and passion only this can push you to tackle the many problems that exist in business
If you had one piece of advice for upcoming DJs who are struggling to find their feet in the current climate what would it be?
-To be oneself
-Don't compromise for play
-Love for House Music
Now, you’re playing at Groove Odyssey for our birthday at Ministry of Sound in November. Can you name one track you’re going to drop on the 12th?
Winans Brothers Feat. Karen Clark I Choose You (Louie Vega Remix)
And what can we look forward to from you in the rest of 2016 and beyond?
November 10, will be released on my first album titled Davide Fiorese "My Deep Side" and 2 singles with Natasha Watts and many remix.
I founded even a new project call "Spirit Of House" a monthly party in Treviso in Italy where there will play the best DJ’s in the world and where I will be the dj resident .
